Hellooo Summertime!
Can you believe it is already JUNE?! Feels like yesterday was just spring with all this rain we have been getting lately; but with all the rain comes luscious green trees and grass! Yes please!
Soo very exciting blog today…(tbh) I’ve been waiting to post these images ever since the shoot two weeks ago! At the end of May I participated in my first ever styled shoot! For those who don’t know what a styled shoot is, it’s basically a “mock wedding” for lack of better words. Google found a better definition for me: “A photo shoot conducted in a controlled and though out manner in which the creatives involved produce props, dress people (or objects) in a particular way and place them into scenery or against a back drop that creates their imagined and desired look and feel.” AKA Making everything look amazing and magical already, without the stress of a real wedding or event. Wedding vendors use the images for social media and promotion and photographers get amazing content for their websites, social medias and of course BLOGS!
Ah where do I even begin! This styled shoot had everything a Texas girl could dream of! Beer burros, amazing florals, beautiful dresses, gorgeous models, cute and unique cakes, dreamy location, and the most bad ass hair and makeup team! All vendors are listed below so be sure to check them out. BIG thank you to Candice at Texas Hill Country Styled Shoots for putting this all together!
My vision behind signing up for this styled shoot was to keep my creative juices flowing, get hands on with upcoming trends- hello beer donkeys- and to work on my flat lays! Not going to lie, the donkeys were my selling point to get in on this shoot, I needed to get those cuties- Loretta Lynn and John Wayne- in my portfolio!! Butttt flat lays were my main mission since I really don’t shoot too many of them, so I was stoked when I got to be hands on with the stationary and watch others with their layouts. As a photographer I am always wanting to learn more and improve my techniques so this deff helped open my eyes! I was very open minded when signing up for this shoot- yes us photographers pay to attend these shoots- and very excited to that there was one spot open on the day of the shoot. The rain had been creeping all week and even looked like it might rain this day, but we got lucky with some amazing, but hot, weather!
Overall I LOVED the shoot and the images I produced and can’t wait to vamp up my insta, fb, blog and website with all the photos. The models who weren’t a real couple had so much chemistry (secretly hoping they date in real life LOL), and the models that are engaged in real life had so much fun and had huge smiles on the whole time, it was a really amazing event to be apart of. Thank you again Texas Hill Country Styled Shoots for putting this all together with ease!
