Alright Y’all! I am back on my blogging game…and I am so serious this time! Every now and then we all need a break from our social media routine. And in those moments of rest and recovery we normally get those creative juices flowing again and the MAGIC happens again! I’m feeling the inspiration and immediately came to post these beautiful (if I do’n’t say so myself ) bridal portraits of my friend, wonderful human being, and recently married woman, Rae!
In this blog post I will let you in on a few tips and tricks on the park and share my favorite images from the shoot! I wish
Early February we woke up early and adventured to Enchanted Rock State Park AKA The most breathe taking location for photo sessions! This amazing state park is a huge mountain made of pink granite located near Fredericksburg and has an elevation of 1,825 feet. It is most definitely a hike!!
You can visit the park year round, but I do suggest going in the fall or spring, but beware of spring breakers and school buses of kids in March! My boyfriend Jimmy and I actually went again a few weeks later in February for Valentine’s Day and it ended up being a super sunny hot day, hot enough to where we both got sunburned! Sunscreen, water bottles, comfy shoes are a must!! Once the park fills up for the day they don’t allow more cars in, so be sure to get there early! We tried to bring a group of friends there in March and when we called on the way around 9:30 am they had already filled up for the day! I recommend going around 8/9 am for the best parking situation during the week, and during the weekend get there by 7/8am. I’ve only been during the week and it was busier than I expected. You can find more information about pricing, hours and their website below.
Back to our bridal adventure session! We drove out to Fredericksburg and the weather was overcast and we chanced that it might rain to go capture these portraits, and it worked in our favor! The weather was actually perfect, lots of clouds, some breezy winds and no harsh shadows or sun! A photographer’s dream!
Rae and Jason eloped in Marfa, Texas beginning on April so I’ve been ready to post these images for what seems like forever! I love bridal sessions because it gives the bride a chance to get to walk in her dress and feel it out for the big day. After all you don’t want any clothing malfunctions on your wedding day! This is the perfect opportunity to dance in your dress, and get hair and makeup done, think of it as a mini trial of your big day! Plus who doesn’t look fabulous in a white wedding dress?! Anyways, if you are on the fence to get bridal portraits done or not, I say go for it! You might not have an hour to do bridal portraits on your wedding day, or that perfect light and location! If you are nervous don’t worry, play dress up, get dolled up, bring your mom or maid of honor if you want and have fun with it!
This is perfect prep for your big day and I will even bring mimosas if you want!
Because you know…I’m not a regular photographer…I’m a cool photographer
